Places to Volunteer THIS weekend (3/17-3/18)

If you're looking for ways to get involved this weekend, check out these opportunities:

1. The Shepherd's Parkway Clean up!  This Saturday! Call Nathan Harrington for details: 301-758-5892.

2. Clean Up Fletcher's Cove with the Potomac Conservancy

Sunday, March 18, 2012: Join the Potomac Conservancy at Fletcher's Cove for their annual spring cleanup! Volunteers will paint the picnic-area grills and clean up the day-use area and trails. This opportunity is open to all ages and no registration is necessary. No special skills are necessary, supplies will be provided, but volunteers should wear clothes they don't mind getting dirty.

Potomac Conservancy monthly volunteer days are part of their Canal Stewards partnership with the National Park Service, which engages volunteers to become long-term caretakers of C & O National Historical Park sites.

For more information, please visit the event page or email Hannah Larson.
